A man identified as Edgar Uriel was detained by elements of the Attorney General's Office (FGJ) of the State of Mexico for the kidnapping of a delivery person from a bakery company in Naucalpan. The detention took place after an arrest warrant was obtained against him for the violent robbery of merchandise transported in a motor vehicle to the detriment of the Barcel company. Following his arrest, he was placed at the disposition of a judge to determine his legal situation.
According to the investigation, another robbery occurred on February 20 when Edgar Uriel allegedly intercepted the victim in the San Lorenzo Totolinga neighborhood and forced him to drive to the San Antonio Zomeyucan neighborhood, where he was stripped of merchandise consisting of snacks. The kidnapping of the delivery person took place on February 24 when Edgar Uriel and another individual opened the rear doors of the delivery van, entered, and forced the delivery person to get into the cabin where another accomplice was already present before leaving the area.
During the kidnapping, which lasted approximately 50 minutes, the criminals stripped the worker of 1,130 products of the Bimbo company and released him in the San Francisco Chimalpa neighborhood. Investigations began after images of the robbery and theft were disseminated on social media, and the state prosecution contacted the legal representative of the affected company to clarify the case.
